Being Mindful

I’ve been away for a few weeks taking care of the husband after surgery.  He is finally getting better and I can’t wait for him to get back to work.  But seriously, he’s been through a lot the past few months and I am super glad he is getting back to normal.

I started this site and this blog because I enjoy helping people with their problems, whether it’s health related or personal (as in life in general).  We all need a little pick me up once in a while.  A little kick in the pants so to speak.  So that is why I am here.  If I can lend an ear, help you be accountable, or answer a question, believe me I would be more than happy to help.

TIP:

In the modern world we eat for convenience rather than for nutrition.  We eat for instant gratification rather than long-term health benefits.

Can you imagine learning a new way of slow eating in which you actually get to experience the tastes and textures of your food rather than wolfing in a hurry or snacking on the go?  I can help you to learn to slow down and eat mindfully!

So what is mindful eating?

Mindful eating means taking the time to honor your food by choosing high quality food, preparing it with care and eating it slowly and mindfully using your five senses to really enjoy it.  It means trying to prepare and cook your food without multitasking at the same time.  Think of it almost as a meditation while you’re preparing your meal.  Be present while your eating.  Take the time to enjoy every bite.  Slow down.  Put your fork down between bites.  Chew your food properly.  Let it digest.  You will be surprised at the change after just trying these few tips.

Enjoy!!
